Naogaon, July 17 -- A case was filed against two people in connection with the rape of a seventh grader in Manda upazila of Naogaon district on Wednesday.

The girl was raped on Saturday but the video of the incident went viral on social media on Monday which caused uproar throughout the area.

The case was filed against two suspects on Wednesday, said Shaheen Reza, officer-in-charge of Mahadevapura Police Station.

According to the case statement, Rifat Hossain, 24, son of Shahidul Islam of Mohadevpur upazila, took the girl, who came out from her house to purchase a packet of noodles Saturday noon, to an under-construction wash block and violated the girl.

The girl returned home and did not disclose the matter to anyone.
