Dhaka, May 31 -- Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed on Saturday said the interim government is simply 'showing banana' in the name of reforms, while failing to take any concrete steps to ensure elections to be held within December.
"How many times will you inaugurate these reforms?" he asked while speaking at a discussion organised by BNP's krishak Dal at the Institution of Diploma Engineers in the capital, marking the 44th death anniversary of party founder Ziaur Rahman,
Salahuddin criticised the government for repeatedly inaugurating phases of reform discussions without any tangible progress, saying that there was an inauguration in the first phase, then another in the second.
