Dhaka, May 3 -- year-old man was killed in a road accident in the capital's Tejgaon area on Friday, police said.

The deceased was identified as Shah Alam, son of Abdul Khalek Kala Mia of Goalbathon village in Kaliakair upazila of Gazipur.

Pedestrian Naim who brought the victim to hospital said that Shah Alam was seriously injured when he was hit by an unknown vehicle while crossing the road opposite Star Bakery and WASA Bhaban in Kawran Bazar at 6 pm.

He was rescued from there and quickly taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors on duty declared him dead at 7 pm.
