Dhaka, Sept. 2 -- The Appellate Division on Monday upheld a High Court order that granted bail to Ayesha Siddika Minni in a case over the murder of her husband Rifat Sharif.

The bench of Supreme Court judge Hasan Foyez Siddique passed the order dismissing an appeal filed by the government challenging the HC order.

Minni's lawyer Z I Khan Panna told journalists that there is no legal bar for Minni to get released from jail following the apex court order.

Earlier on Sunday, Sufia Khatun, advocate-on-record for the attorney general's office, submitted the petition to the Appellate Division seeking stay on her bail order.
