DHAKA, Jan. 27 -- rickshaw driver was killed and his three-wheeler was snatched in Dhaka's Badda area on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Abdus Salam, 65.

The incident occurred past midnight. Critically injured, Salam was rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors declared him dead at 1:40 am.

According to the victim's nephew, Sujan, unidentified assailants attacked Salam with a heavy object before fleeing with the autorickshaw. Locals discovered him lying in a pool of blood and informed the family, who took him to the hospital.
