Dhaka, Aug. 19 -- During the pre-liberation era, there was a god-gifted genius in this suppressed land called Bangladesh, which was then known as East Pakistan. He fought with his pen, camera and cinematic vision for the freedom of the motherland- and through this courageous journey he successfully revealed the true color of the Pakistani rulers.

If he was still alive, the films of Bangladesh would certainly get the highest possible recognition to the worldwide audiences, than it gets now. Today was the 84th birth anniversary of country's legendary filmmaker and writer, Zahir Raihan.
