Bangladesh, July 13 -- A case was filed against Regent Hospital Chairman Mohammad Shahed on Monday on charge of embezzling more than Tk 91 lakh from a transport exporter in Chattogram.

Md Saifuddin, Manager of Mesars Megha Motors filed the case with Double Mooring Police Station accusing Shahed and his accomplice, said Officer-in-Charge of Double Mooring Police Station Sudep Kumar Das.

According to the case statement Shahed took more than Tk 91.25 lakh promising to provide a permit for plying CNG-run auto-rickshaws on the roads in Dhaka on January 22, in 2017.

He also gave a fake road permit signed by Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) Chairman which was later rejected by the BRTC.
