Dhaka, April 5 -- After days of scorching heat, a sudden rainfall brought much-needed relief to residents, especially in the capital, Dhaka, on Saturday evening.
The rain, which started at 7 pm, helped lower temperatures in Dhaka to 29 degrees Celsius, providing respite from the intense heatwave that had been gripping the country for several days.
According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), the rainfall is a result of a brief monsoon shift.
Before the rain, temperatures across the country had been soaring, with Dhaka reaching a high of 37.2degC, making it one of the hottest days this year.
