Dhaka, July 12 -- The government is committed to ensuring quick justice in the brutal murder that occurred near Mitford Hospital, said Law Adviser Asif Nazrul in a Facebook post on Saturday.

Asif Nazrul said five people have already been arrested in connection with the incident which he described as "barbaric."

Police have launched an investigation with the highest priority, said the adviser, assuring that the government will take steps to ensure exemplary punishment for those involved in the killing through speedy trial.

"The case will be transferred to the Speedy Trial Tribunal, and the trial will begin under Section10 of the Speedy Trial Tribunal Act, 2002," he writes.
