Dhaka, Feb. 5 -- The Ministry of Housing and Public Works has suspended Md Saifuzzaman, an Executive Engineer (Civil) of the Public Works Department (PWD), on charges of embezzling over Tk 6.31 crore of government funds, abusing power, and corruption.

According to a notification signed by Ministry Secretary Md Nazrul Islam on Tuesday, Saifuzzaman has been placed under temporary suspension with immediate effect.

He was serving as Executive Engineer (Current Charge) of the Lalmonirhat PWD Division and had earlier worked at Dhaka PWD Division-4.

An investigation found that during his tenure at Dhaka PWD Division-4, Saifuzzaman was involved in irregularities related to the "Construction of Record Building for the Bangladesh Supreme Court" ...
