Dhaka, June 28 -- The now dismantled Puja Mandap on land owned by the Bangladesh Railways in the capital's Khilkhet was 'unauthorised', according to the Ministry of Railways.
In a statement circulated to the media on Friday, the Public Relations Officer of the ministry, Rezaul Karim Siddiqui, said that the Mandap was removed on Thursday (26 June) as part of an eviction drive targeting illegal structures on Bangladesh Railway land.
The statement also mentioned that attempts to spread misinformation regarding the issue are being observed through various channels.
