Dhaka, Feb. 20 -- No one will be allowed to hold the general public hostage or create public suffering in the name of movements or demands, said RAB Director General AKM Shahidur Rahman on Friday.

All necessary measures will be taken to ensure uninterrupted movement and daily life of ordinary people, he told reporters while visiting the Central Shaheed Minar in the capital to inspect RAB's security arrangements.

The RAB DG said there is currently no specific security threat centring the observance of Language Martyrs Day but all necessary preparations have been taken to deal with any possible situation.
