Dhaka, Nov. 16 -- Speakers at a discussion warned that the proposed travel ordinance could render millions of skilled Bangladeshi workers unemployed, saying the move would severely disrupt overseas employment opportunities and harm the country's economy.

Speaking at a press conference in the capital, Travel, Hajj and recruiting sector representatives have urged the government to withdraw the proposed Bangladesh Travel Agency (Registration and Regulation) (Amendment) Ordinance-2025, warning that its implementation would force thousands of agencies to shut and render millions of skilled workers unemployed.
