Natore, Feb. 22 -- The government has taken steps to remove superintendents of police (SPs) who were in charge during the 2018 general election, Religious Affairs Adviser A F M Khalid Hossain said on Saturday.

As part of the process, some SPs are being made officers on special duty (OSD) or sent into compulsory retirement, similar to measures taken against deputy commissioners (DCs) who oversaw the election, he said.

The adviser came up with the information while speaking at the inauguration of a model mosque in Bagatipara upazila of Natore district.
