Dhaka, Nov. 11 -- Leaders of government primary school teachers have withdrawn all forms of protests following an assurance from the government to implement the 11th grade pay scale.

The decision came after a meeting with Finance Secretary Md Khairuzzaman Majumder and Primary and Mass Education Secretary Abu Taher Md Masud Rana at the Secretariat on Monday.

Khairun Nahar Lipi, convener of the Primary Teachers Demand Implementation Council, told reporters, "Although our demand was for the 10th grade, the Finance Ministry has issued a press release confirming the implementation of the 11th grade for us. Trusting their assurance, we are withdrawing all our strikes from tomorrow (Tuesday)."
