Narsingdi, Aug. 29 -- Police have detained two physicians over allegations of wrong treatment following the death of a six-year-old girl who never woke up after she was anethetised for an operation to remove her tonsils.

"The physicians are in our custody," said Md Emdadul Haque, the Officer-in-Charge of Narsingdi Model Police Station, adding that the detention followed the filing of a complaint by the ill-fated parents of the victim, identified as Raha Moni.

The police were waiting for the parents to return after laying their daughter to rest to formally complete the procedure of filing a case against the doctors-Tanmoy Kaur and Sudipta Saha, who is a government physician from Narsingdi Sadar Hospital.
