Dhaka, April 25 -- Dhaka District Jubo Dal President Yasin Ferdous Murad on Friday alleged that a plot is underway not only to delay the upcoming election but also to thwart it for an extended period.

"The people of the country want the election to take place before December this year. But, certain quarters are attempting to delay the polls under the guise of reforms. There are also efforts to prevent the election for a prolonged period," he said.

The BNP leader made the remarks during an extended meeting of the BNP in the Suapur Union of Dharmarai Upazila, held at the local Union Parishad office. Leaders and activists from BNP, Jubo Dal, and other associated bodies of the party attended the meeting.
