Dhaka, Oct. 25 -- In an unprecedented move, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appointed its Test captain, Shan Masood, as the consultant for international cricket and player affairs. The former cricketers or board officials typically play this role.

This rare move caught many by surprise in the cricketing arena. The PCB did not clarify if Shan will continue as a player while serving the new role.

Many took it as Shan's transition to management from his playing career.
