Mymensingh, May 5 -- The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has arrested a man accused of killing his mother-in-law in Mymensingh's Muktagacha upazila, just two days after the incident.

The suspect, Monir Hossain, 25, was held late on May 3 from the Kotbari area near Comilla University, under Sadar Police Station in Cumilla district, said Yousuf, Superintendent of Police (Media) at the PBI Headquarters.

According to police, the incident occurred in the early hours of May 1, around 2:00am, following a family dispute.

Monir, along with accomplices, allegedly broke into his in-laws' home and attacked his sister-in-law Ruma Akhter while she was asleep, striking her on the forehead, left ear and arm with a sharp knife.
