Pabna, Sept. 2 -- Road communications of the district with Dhaka and Chattogram came to a halt on Monday as motor workers went on an indefinite strike demanding salary hike.

Alal Hossain, Senior Line Secretary of Motor Workers Union, said they called an indefinite strike demanding hike in workers' salaries.

He said workers took decision to go on strike around 10 pm on Sunday night as the owners did not increase the workers' salaries as per their pledge.

"Motor owners have been charging increased fares from the passengers but did not raise the salaries of workers," he said.
