Dhaka, Jan. 30 -- year-old man was killed and at least 15 others were injured when a passenger bus overturned at Pakhi Point in Gazaria upazila of Munshiganj on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway, police said on Thursday.

The accident happened around 8:45pm on Wednesday.

The deceased, identified as Sumon, was a resident of Debidwar upazila in Cumilla district.

According to witnesses, the accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound Asha Paribahan bus from Cumilla lost control and hit the road divider at Pakhir More, causing it to overturn.

Bhaberchar Highway Police Acting In-Charge Harunar Rashid said police have taken custody of the deceased passenger's body and his family has been informed.
