Dhaka, April 16 -- year-old youth on charge of raping a 13-year-old seventh-grade student in Osmaninagar upazila of Sylhet, four days after the incident.

The arrestee, Jibon Ahmed, is the son of Emlak Ahmed of Rahmatpur village under Sadipur union in the upazila.

Acting on a complaint filed by the victim's family, police detained Jibon from his village home around 2am on Monday (Apr 15), said Md Monayem Miah, officer-in-charge of Osmaninagar Police Station.

According to locals, Jibon allegedly entered the victim's house late at night on April 11 while her family members were away and raped her. The girl later informed her aunt, after which she was taken to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital for treatment.
