Dhaka, Oct. 12 -- Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said on Thursday that there was no benefit to dragging out the dead caretaker government and it would bring no relief for the opposition.

"The next national election will be unprecedentedly peaceful and neutral, all things of the BNP will end in smoke unless the party joins the election," he said.

Quader, also road, transport and bridges minister, came up with the remark while addressing a peace and development rally organised by Dhaka south chapter Awami League on Bangabandhu Avenue in Dhaka on Thursday afternoon.
