Dhaka, March 16 -- There is no security risk over the upcoming celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr and the National Independence and National Day, said Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Nasimul Gani on Sunday.

Speaking at a press briefing after a preparatory meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs, he assured all that the government had taken comprehensive measures to maintain law and order during the events.

"The law enforcement agencies are well-prepared to ensure the safety and security of the public. The police are in a strong position, and adequate steps have been taken for the safety of passengers travelling home for Eid," Gani said.
