Munshiganj, May 16 -- The wreckage of a passenger launch and a bulkhead could not be towed to the shore three days after the vessels collided with each other in Dhaleshwari River in Munshiganj, the authorities said late Thursday night.

The collision occurred around 3pm on Tuesday near Mollarchar in the middle of the river. Both launch MV Mayur-7 and bulkhead Redwan Riyad-1 were partially damaged and got locked together after the crash.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

The launch was en route from Sadarghat to Chandpur, carrying around 250 passengers, when it collided head-on with the oncoming bulkhead.
