Dhaka, March 10 -- Employees of the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation, or NITOR, colloquially known as 'Pongu Hospital', clashed with the injured protesters of the July movement being treated at the hospital on Monday morning.

As a result, the emergency department of NITOR was closed throughout the day

However Director Dr Abdul Kenan, speaking to UNB around 7pm on Monday, confirmed that the emergency department had opened.

"There was an unexpected incident between NITOR employees and the injured of the July movement over the collection of blood for the blood bank," the director said, admitting the two sides came to blows.
