Savar, March 4 -- Leaders of the newly formed political party, National Citizen Party (NCP), on Tuesday paid rich tributes to martyrs through placing wreaths at the National Mausoleum in Savar.
Party Convenor and Member Secretary Nahid Islam and Aktar Hossain led the party to pay homage. They also observed a one-minute silence at the mausoleum.
Talking to the media, Nahid, a former adviser to the interim government, said, "We will build a new Bangladesh in the spirit of all struggles including the 2024 mass uprising. Though we obtained an independent country through the liberation war, our sovereignty faced threats due to fascism."
Emphasising the need for building a new republic, he said the country's democratic institutions collapsed...
