Dhaka, June 26 -- The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has issued a stern warning against attempts to spread misinformation using fake mobile screenshots generated by artificial intelligence (AI) software.

The screenshots, which falsely implicate the NBR chairman, director general of the Central Intelligence Cell (CIC), commissioner of the Tax Intelligence Unit, and other senior officials, are being circulated to mislead and confuse NBR employees, the agency said in a statement.

According to NBR, the fabricated screenshots were created using a foreign-registered phone number along with AI tools, and then disseminated via social media platforms.
