Dhaka, April 24 -- Bangladesh's star cricketer Mehedy Hasan Miraz on Wednesday joined hands with UNICEF as the national cricketer was officially announced 'UNICEF Child Rights Advocate' to support the children of Bangladesh.

The announcement was made at a media briefing at the Press Conference room of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur in presence of BCB and UNICEF officials.

Being the advocate for promoting child rights, Miraz will work with UNICEF to promote child rights and create mass awareness in the areas of nutrition, health, education, water, sanitation and hygiene and child protection.
