, Aug. 12 -- The government has extended the tenure of the National Consensus Commission (NCC) by one month till September 15 this year.
A notification, signed by Cabinet Secretary Dr Sheikh Abdur Rashid, was issued on Monday night in this regard.
Earlier on February 12, the seven-member commission was formed which was asked to submit its report within six months.
The commission began work on February 15 and its tenure was supposed to end on August 15.
The commission was tasked with considering and adopting the recommendations of the six reform commissions.
Professor Ali Riaz was made the vice chairman of the commission.
