Pirojpur, March 22 -- Police arrested a member of the Jatiya Nagorik Committee in Pirojpur on Saturday in a case filed over attack, vandalism, and robbery of an under-construction model mosque.

The arrestee, Musabbir Mahmud Sani (32), is the son of Md Kislur, from the Mashimpur area near the old bus stand in Pirojpur town, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Abbas of Pirojpur Sadar Police Station

Detective Branch of Police arrested Sani from the Kapuria Patti area, the OC said.

According to the case statement, Sani, identifying himself as the convener of a student movement, led a group of 30 to 40 individuals to attack the under-construction model mosque in Pirojpur Municipality on Friday afternoon.
