Dhaka, July 18 -- To mark the first anniversary of the nationwide internet shutdown on July 18 last year, mobile subscribers across the country are being offered one GB of free internet data, valid for five days starting Friday.
As part of the observance of 'July Uprising Day,' the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) recommended the initiative, which was voluntarily adopted by all mobile operators, said a media release sent from the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications & Information Technology on Friday.
Operators have already notified subscribers via SMS following BTRC's guidance.
