Dhaka, Jan. 9 -- At least three people were killed and 15 others injured after a bus hit the back of a truck parked in the Baroiarhat Dhunghat area of Mirsarai on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway early Friday.

One of the deceased was identified as Nafiz Ahmed Ayan, a merchant officer of the Navy, who was returning home to Mirsarai on a ten-day leave.

According to injured passengers, the truck, carrying wood, was parked at the northern check post when the Dhaka-bound double-decker bus of St. Martin Pribahan hit its rear, killing three people on the spot and injuring at least 15 others.
