, Jan. 1 -- A mild cold wave is sweeping over parts of the country and it may abate in some places, Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said on Thursday.

According to the Met office bulletin, "A mild cold wave is sweeping over the districts of Madaripur, Gopalganj, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Dinajpur, Panchagarh, Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Cumilla, Khulna, Satkhira, Jashore, Chuadanga, Kushtia, Barishal and Bhola and it may abate from some places."

Weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.

Moderate to thick fog may occur at many places over the country from midnight to morning and it may continue at places till noon.
