Dhaka, Feb. 21 -- A massive fire that broke out at a sawmill near Talatala Market in Khilgaon was brought under control around 9:30 pm, according to Anwarul Islam of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters media cell.

Nine fire service units were deployed to tackle the blaze, though two were later withdrawn.

The fire, which broke out around 7:30 pm on Friday, had raged for nearly two hours before firefighters managed to bring it under control.

During the incident, seven gas cylinders exploded, further intensifying the flames.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage or any casualties are yet to be determined.
