Savar, March 17 -- A man was detained by locals who accused him of attempting to rape a 4-year-old child. Before handing him over to the police in Savar, they also mobbed up and thrashed him.

The incident occurred on Sunday night in the Aukpara area of Ashulia Union of the upazila.

The information was confirmed on Monday by Kamal Hossain, the Police Inspector (Investigation) of Ashulia Police Station.

The accused, Milon, is the son of Khoka Mia from Lalpukur village in Mithapukur Thana, Rangpur. He was a tenant at the house of Lutfar Rahman in the Aukpara area of Ashulia.
