, March 9 -- Miscreants allegedly cut the tendons of the two hands of a grocery shop owner in Shantibag area of Shahjahanpur in Dhaka on Sunday.

The victim was identified as Ruhul Amin, 55, a resident of the area and son of Abdur Rahman of Kasba upazila in Brahmanbaria district.

Quoting Amanullah, brother-in-law of Auhul Amin, Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge-of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital police camp, said the miscreants swooped into the shop of ruhul Amin around 6am and kept him hostage at knife-point.
