, Oct. 25 -- A sexagenarian man was killed and 20 others were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over establishing supremacy at Birampur village in Sadar upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Nasir Uddin, 65, son of Moiz Uddin of the village.
Azharul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said Harun Mia, former chairman of Sadekpur union parishad, and Sachu Group had been at loggerheads over establishing supremacy in the area.
As a sequel to the enmity, the supporters of both groups equipped with local weapons attacked each other in the morning, leaving Nasir, a supporter of Sachu Group, dead on the spot and 20 others injured.
