, June 11 -- year-old man was shot to death allegedly in a clash between two factions of BNP centering the arrest of a leader of banned Chhatra League at Majhipara in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj district on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Mamun Bhuiya, son of Abdul Mannaf of Majhipara area.

Quoting witnesses, Mehedi Islam, senior assistant superintendent of Narayanganj Police, said two factions of BNP-one led by Badal Bhuiya, organising secretary of Bhulta union unit Jubo Dal and another led by Zayedul Islam alias Babu, former publicity secretary of district unit Chhatra Dal-had been at loggerheads over establishing supremacy in the area.
