, Feb. 22 -- Police arrested a man along with arms and ammunition from Dhaka's Mirpur area early Saturday.

The arrestee was identified as Md Faruk, 27.

Tipped off, a team of Mirpur Model Police conducted a drive in the area around 2:15 am and arrested Faruk, said Jahangir Kabir, assistant commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

Police also recovered a foreign made 9-mm pistol, a magazine and nine rounds of bullets from his position.

Faruk was an accused in an arms case, said police.

On February 13, this year, two persons, Rubel and Shakib, were arrested from Mirpur-2 with 30 rounds of bullets.

During interrogation, they revealed the name of Faruk.

A case was filed in this connection with Mirpur Model Police Station.
