Dhaka, May 12 -- Ambassador of Russia to Bangladesh Alexander Khozin has said Russia as the country that suffered the most from the horrors of the World War II and the Great Patriotic War, for the sake of restoring peace on the continent, will never allow the lessons of the past to be forgotten.

This year, Russia together with its allies is celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War against Nazi Germany.

The Embassy of Russia in Bangladesh hosted a reception at a city hotel on the occasion of the Victory Day on Sunday evening.

This year celebrations carry special significance since they mark the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the USSR in the Great Patriotic War on May 9, 1945.
