, April 8 -- Police in a drive arrested former vice-president of the central committee unit of banned Bangladesh Chhatra League from Bedgram in Gopalganj district town on Monday night.

The arrestee was Anwar Hossain Anu, 38, son of Sihab Uddin of Sadar upazila.

Tipped off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Anu, said Mir Md Sajedur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.

Police will produce him before the court on Tuesday with remand prayer, said the OC.
