Dhaka, July 20 -- Environment Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan has instructed the authorities concerned to take effective measures to maintain cleanliness at Kuakata and Cox's Bazar beaches during the upcoming tourist season.

She gave the directive while presiding over a meeting on budget implementation at the Department of Environment (DoE) under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change on Saturday.

To ensure cleanliness in the peak tourist months of November and December, the adviser emphasised the deployment of local volunteers to collect waste on a daily basis.

She also underscored the importance of setting up an adequate number of dustbins throughout tourist areas to encourage proper waste disposal by visitors.
