Dhaka, Aug. 24 -- Joya Chakma and Salma Islam Moni will open a new chapter in Bangladesh football as they become the first Bangladeshi women referee of FIFA.

Joya Chakma and Salma Islam Moni passed the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) fitness test for FIFA referees on Friday.

Ibrahim Naser, Deputy Chairman of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Referees committee said, "They have passed the BFF fitness test for FIFA referees. Now we will send their CVs, performances, experiences and others to FIFA by November. I hoped that they will get FIFA approval by January."

Joya Chakma started her referee career from 2010 while Salma Islam Moni from 2013.

Joya played for Team BJMC women's football team and Salma was an athlete.
