Bangladesh, Aug. 3 -- Islamic University, Aug 3 (UNB) - The authorities of Islamic University (IU) launched a botanical garden on the campus in Kushtia on Saturday with a view to making the campus a green one.

IU vice-chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari inaugurated the garden by planting as the chief guest around 12pm.

Speaking at the inaugural session, IU vice-chancellor said that they had adopted a long-term plan to make the campus a green one.

"To make the campus more green and lively, we have come up with multi-faceted plans, including the creation of the Lake, Botanical Garden," he added.
