, April 13 -- The Islamic Foundation has urged the authorities concerned to hold the Jumma (Friday) prayers at the same time in all mosques across the country.
In a press release on Sunday the Islamic Foundation said Friday is a day for communal gathering and is considered a weekly Eid. It holds special significance and sanctity due to the blessings and goodness present in a specific time on this day.

It observed that in Bangladesh, Jumma prayers are held at different times in different mosques - some start at 1:00 pm while others at 1:30 pm and some at 1:50 pm.
Due to this variation in timing, Muslim devotees - especially travelers and pedestrians - often face confusion and difficulties.
