Dhaka, Oct. 22 -- election observation team of International Republican Institute (IRI) on Wednesday met Election Commissioner Brigadier General (retd) Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah.

IRI board member Christopher J. Fussner led the eight-member IRI delegation during the meeting held at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital.

During the meeting, they discussed the preparations for the upcoming national election.

Talking to reporters after the meeting, delegation member John Fluharty said they had a great discussion with the Election Commission about free and fair elections.

He said they will issue a report soon after they finish this mission to Bangladesh.
