Dhaka, April 11 -- Biplobi Workers Party General Secretary Saiful Huq on Friday raised concerns over the intention of the interim government following the Home Adviser's comment on people's expectation that it should remain in power for five years.

"Our Home Adviser has said that people are saying this government should stay in power for five years. I would like to ask him, are you expressing the government's thoughts? What exactly is your agenda? What is the real objective behind such comments?" Huq said.

He made the remarks while speaking at a solidarity human chain programme in front of the Jatiya Press Club.

Huq also questioned the underlying motives behind such a statement, urging the government to clarify its position.
