Dhaka, July 3 -- Trading began with an upward trend at both the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) on Thursday, the last working day of the week, as most company shares witnessed price gains.

In the first hour of trading, DSE's key index, DSEX, advanced by 10 points.

Among the other indices, the Shariah-based DSES edged up by 1 point, while the blue-chip index DS30 gained 4 points.

Prices rose for most companies in early trading. Of the issues traded, 188 advanced, 125 declined and 68 remained unchanged.

The turnover at the DSE crossed Tk 130 crore during the opening hour, reflecting active investor participation.
