Image literacy needed to understand the greatness of Zainul-Quamrul-Sultan-Safiuddin, says Khaled
Bangladesh, Oct. 22 -- Art maestros in Bangladesh, including Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin, Quamrul Hassan, SM Sultan and Safiuddin Ahmed, have elevated modern art to astronomical heights that can only be understood by an audience of connoisseurs, according to renowned critic Moinuddin Khaled.
"The brilliance of their simple-yet-profound artworks needs deeper analysis that can only be achieved through proper image literacy of the audience and fellow artists, for the betterment of Bangladeshi modern art," Khaled said at the 5th edition of Cosmos Art Echo, a special art talk series organised by Cosmos Atelier71, on Wednesday.
